Lake Fayetteville Family Treehouse
Fayetteville, AR
Completed March 2012
Materials: Native cypress and cedar
This unique treehouse, spanning two oak trees in the family's backyard, is designed to be an all-weather space. The platform features three separate play spaces, each ideal for different weather conditions: a fully enclosed clubhouse, an open deck area, and a covered porch. With the three distinct play spaces, two ladder entrances, a slide and bucket and pulley, the structure encourages lots of movement and activity.
The treehouse "floats" atop two strong beams and triangle braces spanning the 12' between trees. We had to insure that all structural supports could flex in high wind, and also grow with the tree over the years without restricting the tree's growth.
