Parkside Playschool Tree Clubhouse

This project started with a brainstorming session with the four and five year old class.  What did they want their treehouse to look like?  What would they build if they could make anything in the world?  In the end, many of the kids’ ideas were incorporated (kid-designed artwork on the walls, countertop for playing and shelves for storage, tree right in the middle of the space), though some ideas were discarded (TV and video games, elevator).  The kids even learned how to sand scrap wood and paint it for the decoration, and on the last day of school, the students got to proudly show it off to their parents. Not sure whether the kids or our crew had more fun on this one.  100% recycled, reclaimed or locally sourced materials.
